Well, I have been to the track as a spectator, now I needed to be a driver! There were a good bit of things I needed to do to prepare the car before I could do this though. The first important thing was a roll bar. All convertibles need to have roll over protection in order to drive on the track. The first track event after the purchase of my car was in September ’99. It was on the training course at Summit Point Raceway named the Jefferson Circuit. This meant that I had only 2 months to purchase and install my roll bar. I bought the bar from Performance Buyers Club for $350. I decided to install it myself. 4 hours later and I was ready for the track!
