WHERE DO I STAND IN MY QUEST FOR SUPREMACY?
Who Am I Trying To Kid?

So now what’s left to do? Mostly interior stuff. Remove interior and get a roll cage installed (~$2000, this will be the last big expense barring a blown motor), install a race seat (I have a seat waiting: $400 *new* Sparco EVO) and harnesses (I have Sparco, 6pt, camlock belts $147.90 waiting), and mount tires. A good friend essentially gave me 6 scrubbed R compound tires for free and I have Hawk Blue brake pads leftover from my early days tracking my 3rd Gen RX-7 that I can use. I have a used aluminum hood ($200) waiting a rattle can paint job and installation. I managed to source an "assembled" limited slip differential fitted with a Torsen LSD out of a Miata ($400) to replace the open unit currently in the car. This will help ole peg leg considerably. And the icing on the cake, this unit comes with a 4:33 ring and pinion out of a GTUs (vs the stock 4:1). Yeah for me! A steering wheel and quick disconnect would be great as would a shift light but these could wait also. Strut tower bars are cheap so I might get those sooner rather than later. I have some concerns about the adequacy of the stock radiator and of course the longevity of the motor and transmission is questionable but nothing I can do about that now until they fail. So where do I stand?

Porky? Nah.

                                               Initial Weight Savings                                         118.8 lbs
More Engine Bay Weight Savings                       13.4 lbs
Interior Weight Savings 1                                     23.6 lbs
                                               Total Weight Savings:                                         155.8 lbs

So already I’m down to a car that weighs in at less than 2470lbs and a has a few more hp to boot.  Not too shabby. And I haven’t even begun to really work on the interior yet! The passenger seat alone has to weigh 40lbs!

Ah Yes...THE Budget
